Saturday June 9, 2012

Today was a long day. Arrived at 8 am and departed the track at 1 am. In between I did about 2 an a half hours of running with some good high points and some bad as well.

Qualification put me in all 4 A mains with TQ honors in E-Buggy and 4wd SC. Double A’s we’re on tap for those classes and I just wanted to hold on to my pole position. In SC I was able to dip and dodge the ruts the best on the way to taking victory in both mains. In EBuggy the competition was fierce with many top drivers in the mix. I was able to hold my lead though from the start in both mains to take victory! My Durango E vehicles with ProTek batteries and Tekin electronics were on fire this event!

Truggy I had qualified poorly by my standards just barely making the A in 12th. My truck had felt amazing though so I knew I had a shot at getting near the top. Unfortunately a poor start putting my 1/2 a lap down in the first laps hurt my chances. However my alpha plus Ryan lutz edition engine equipped Durango DNX408T was dialed and I moved through the pack settling in the 4th position by the end of the race.

Nitro buggy was up last and I had high hopes. My Durango DNX408 was dialed and I knew with a good start I had a shot at top 3. However that good start didn’t materialize and I quickly found myself in last again. I started working through traffic but ended up on my lid for an extended time and flamed. By with about 9 minutes to go I could feel something locking up and eventually it just locked. The engine moved and that was that. It’s a bummer because I felt I had the speed but it just wasn’t meant to be this time. I’m ready for nationals though!

I always enjoy this event and this year was the most competitive yet. Hope to come back next year and put in some more runs for the wins!
